Group and Individual Mental Wellness Support for Men in Chilliwack and across British Columbia

Adverse childhood experiences, traumatic events, and family and workplace demands have made it hard for men to find their way in today's ever-changing world. This has led to deteriorating relationships, emotional dysregulation, a decline in mental health, substance abuse and to other maladaptive behaviours.  The need to support men like you with healthy coping and resilience skills is what inspired the vision behind True Men Wellness.

We respectfully acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples of Canada who have lived on and cared for this land since ancient times and we are honoured to live, work, and learn on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Stó:lō Coast Salish peoples.

Men’s Mental Wellness matters

In today’s demanding world, it is increasingly hard for men to define themselves and live healthy and balanced lives. A number of men struggle with conditions like depression, risky pornography addiction, internet addiction, PTSD, attention challenges and substance abuse. Some men have intimacy and sexual problems, and some may be prone to aggression. Others may simply isolate and give up on interacting with people leading to depression.  The reality is  that only few men are aware of the severity of their mental health challenges. Of those who are aware, only a handful seek help.  In some cases, it takes a tragic life-altering event for men to realize the need for mental health support in their lives.

What we can do to support you

The need for mental health support for men  is what inspired True Men Wellness – the vision of wellness counsellor Tony Zuniga (Registered Clinical Counsellor – RCC).  The goal in creating this private practice company is to provide mental health services and skills tailored to support adolescent and adult men who are struggling to live balanced and healthy lives.
We are inclusive in our practice and support individual and institutional clients from diverse backgrounds—ranging from teens to seniors, Indigenous clients, court involved men, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals from various cultural backgrounds. We also offer counselling in Spanish / Tambien ofrecemos servicios de consejeria en Español.

Tony’s Approach to Men’s Wellness

I’m Tony Zuniga and for over ten years I’ve had the privilege of supporting youth and men of all ages to improve their lives and mental health in institutional and non-profit organizations in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia. Many of my clients have experienced severe trauma, have substance abuse issues, and some have caused harm to themselves and others.
Through active listening and other strategies, I help men and youth identify the root causes of their struggles, set meaningful goals, develop practical solutions, and build skills to create lasting change. My approach is non-judgmental, client-centered, and integrative—tailored to each man and youth’s unique needs and comfort level. At the heart of my work is the development of a strong and compassionate relationship with my clients. I strive to equip men with practical tools to break free from destructive behaviour patterns and to empower them to face life’s challenges with strength and resilience..
